Joana Neto

Graduated in Biology and Master in Ecology, Environment and Territory, by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, having developed tools for assessing sustainability and environmental performance in agricultural holdings. Since then, she has carried out research work in the area of crop protection, namely in the study of alternative means of controlling emerging pests in fruit trees. She was part of several R&D projects, highlighting the international project PRE-HLB – Preventing HLB epidemics for ensuring citrus survival in Europe. She is currently part of the doctoral program Sustainable Land Use at Instituto Superior de Agronomia developing, in collaboration with GreenUPorto, Biological Conservation Fighting strategies to control Tuta Absoluta populations in tomato production.
