Infrastructures

The GreenUPorto Research Centre comprises two research Campus: Vairão and Campo Alegre.

The Campus de Vairão, located at Vila do Conde, has several research laboratories, sensory analysis room, plant growth chambers, greenhouses and open-fields. These facilities promote the link between fundamental and applied research, within the agronomic, food and environmental sciences, offering excellent conditions for up-scaling (testing under more real scenarios) and for demonstration and knowledge transfer to growers and industrial stakeholders. The cohabitation with postgraduate and PhD courses that take place at this pole, promotes the integration and attraction of young researchers in the area of Agronomic, Food and Nutrition Sciences.

The Campus of Campo Alegre, located at the headquarters of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, has several well equipped research laboratories for research on plant biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, nutrition, soils ecology, terrestrial and aquatic ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment. The location of these laboratories offers an excellent multidisciplinary research environment with a strong link to the postgraduate and PhD courses offered by the Faculty mainly in the fields of Biology and Environmental Sciences.
