Sofia Oliveira holds master’s degree in the field of ecology, and she is currently finishing her PhD in Science Teaching and Dissemination. During her thesis, she researched the use of social media by citizen science projects around the world as well as to develop a citizen science protocol to monitor biological communities (focus on animal taxa) under different human pressures. Currently, she is working on the management and dissemination of the project TERRATECH – masTERs course on smArt Agriculture TECHnologies, which is co-financed by the European Union. Her current interests are centered on environmental education, nature conservation, science communication, and adult training.
