DEPARTMENT FROM UArizona INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT

The School of Plant Sciences at the University of Arizona has a long tradition of excellence in multiple areas of plant biology, including plant reproductive biology. In particular, Prof. Palanivelu’s research has been mainly focused on the understanding the genes involved in mediating pollen tube-pistil interactions during Arabidopsis reproduction.

Prof. Palanivelu is involved in several projects investigating the signals that mediate pollen germination, pollen tube growth, guidance, and reception by the female gametophyte during double fertilization in Arabidopsis. Prof. Palanivelu has been a PI in several US National Science Foundation competitive grants since 2007.
