ORganic CHemistry-Inspired Design and Synthesis of bioactive molecules
Our team is integrated in the Molecular Synthesis Group of LAQV-REQUIMTE, and is settled at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (DQB-FCUP).
Organic and Peptide Synthesis are our main tools to work at the interface between Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Life Sciences and Biomedical Engineering, with intervention in four major research areas:
- Strategies for drug modification and targeted delivery
- Asymmetric synthesis of chiral compounds inspired by Nature
- Greener synthetic routes and methods towards bioactive compounds
- Peptide synthesis and use in the Biomedical and Agro-Food sectors
