Alexandra de Sousa has a MSc degree in Plant Molecular Physiology certified by the University of Minho. She is currently developing her PhD thesis – “Rye Aluminum Tolerance – antioxidant response, organic acids and candidate genes” and at present, she is at the University of Antwerp completing the PhD research. Her research interest includes physiological and biochemical mechanisms adopted by plants under stress conditions (heavy metals, drought, high temperatures and elevated levels of CO2).
