Combinatorics in Oporto

Program: The meeting is intended as a way to bring together researchers of various areas of combinatorics, namely Graph Theory, Matroid Theory (including Coxeter Matroids and Oriented Matroids) and Convex Geometry. It will consist of two mini courses, specially designed for students and young researchers, followed by a series of ten plenary lectures of fifty minutes and ten to twelve contributed talks of twenty five minutes. We also intend to promote a poster session.

Call for papers and posters: Authors are invited to submit abstracts of at most two pages by June 15, 2003. Each submitted abstract must be prepared in Latex, and sent in attachment to comb03@agc0.fc.up.pt. The notifications of acceptance or rejection are scheduled for June 30. Authors should indicate whether they consider a poster or a lecture as the most appropriate mode of presentation.

Registration: Please register in here. There will be a fee of 60 euro if the registration is done before July, 15, and of 100 euro afterwards. The registration fee includes conference materials, lunches and coffee-breaks. The payment must be done at the conference, in cash.

Deadlines: June 15: Submission of abstracts; June 30: Notifications of acceptance/rejection of abstracts; July 15: Early fee.

Participant support: Limited funds will be available for partial support of students and junior scientists participants in the mini courses. Accommodations in the University campus are also available, in a limited number. Requests should be sent by June 15, by email to comb03@agc0.fc.up.pt. In the case of application for funds, the requests should also contain a letter of recommendation.
