There are still a number of outstanding problems about the
statistical properties of hyperbolic flows - notably problems involving
rates of mixing for hyperbolic flows. In this talk we describe
a geometric invariant associated to a hyperbolic flow that
enables one to quite easily prove the stability and genericty of rapid mixing
for hyperbolic flows. (This work is joint with Ian Melbourne (Surrey) and
Andrew Torok (Houston).
