Research Lines Applied and Fundamental Research in Biomedical Signals and Systems - Analysis and Characterization of the ECG and other Cardiorespiratory Signals. Study of the autonomic nervous system. Heart rate varibility analysis.
- Stochastic Processes and  Time Series. Time, frequency, time/scale (wavelets), linear and non linear analysis, with application to the cardiovascular variability case studies.
- Analysis and Modelling of Signals and Systems. Characterization of the temporal dynamics of the cardiovascular variability case studies. Modelling of time variant processes, long-range and short term dependency and volatility. 
- Data treatment and interpretation. Study of intelligent and advanced methods of information reduction with application to the features extracted from the experimental data.

Statistical modeling in the Health Sciences - Mathematical Modelling in health sciences.
- Development of clustering techniques for ordinal data. Construction of dietary patterns with data from nutritional epidemiology.

- Latent variable models in public health assessment.

- Classification of Ordinal Data.
- Weighted measures in Classification. Weighted principal  component analysis with application to Bioinformatics.
- Time series Clustering and Discriminant Analysis.
- Clustering based on Graph Theory. Clustering methods involving
graph k-partite properties.
  Bioninformatics/Biomathematics Novel, computationally efficient multimodal approaches and tools,  within the areas of  interest of the Signal Procesing and Data Analysis Group,  for the analysis  of complex data, such as the one driven by life-science problems, as bioinformatics/biomedical  applications.
