Three main thematic lines
The GreenUPorto focuses its research on the Horticulture sector (with a special emphasis on fruits, vegetables, ornamentals and viticulture) both in open-air as well as under protected cultivation. Three main thematic lines have been defined, which reflect the existent expertise.
Infrastructures
The GreenUPorto Research Centre comprises two research Campus: Vairão and Campo Alegre.
Education & Training
GreenUPorto research is closely aligned with a diversity of post-graduation courses that the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto offers in the field of Agronomy, Plant Biology, Consumer Sciences and Nutrition, and Environmental Sciences. The cohabitation of Education and Research Activities in both Campus promotes the recruitment of excellent students from these scientific areas to develop their thesis in the thematic research lines of the Centre.
